It was all play this week as I was off work for half term.
It started with a nine hour journey, this wasn’t how long it was supposed to take but due to the M25 being shut in both directions it took us 4 hours to travel 10 miles from home. It was worth it though as in the evening we arrived to visit family.
New shoes and good progress made on Christmas shopping, following by non-alcoholic martinis and crafting. We made new friends on the beach as well as learning about coastal errosion and the steps they’re taking to reduce it. Along with a small haul of shells, rocks and “sea glass”.
A fun trip to the farm with lots of cousin fun with balloons. A trip to the local swimming pool which we had to ourselves for most of the time. Followed by tea out with the family and a trip to Blackpool Illuminations.

A trip to Ribby Hall to enjoy the playground and animals, including cheeky macaws that tried to escape but were quickly returned to their avery. A fantastic halloween treasure hunt and halloween tea with cousins. Followed by a first visit to Father Christmas in the garden centre. More crafting, painting, drawing and resin making.
A swift 4.5 hour journey home to wrap up the week.
Watching / Listening / Reading
There was very little this week.
📖Booths Christmas Catalogue. Warning, don’t read if you’re feeling hungry! Booths is a local instituation in Lancashire and I’m disappointed they don’t offer nationwide delivery, however, it provided great inspiration for my Christmas planning.
📖Katsuma and the Art Thief Willow’s reading book for the holidays, we must have read it at least 20 times across one week.
📺Sing Thriller. A halloween treat for any Sing fans.
I’d had great plans of the evenings I was going to spend relaxing with a book or podcast but as ever when spending time with family this idyllic, quiet evening time never quite materialised.
Normalish service returns for the next week’s installment.
Impressed by your early christmas shopping. I am a BIG fan of the Booths in Barrowford - our first stop on the way to any rental cottage while visiting Joy's mum.
