A little bit late posting this as Monday disappeared for all the right reasons, a long walk in the morning, Music Fair at my daughter’s school and walking home in the sunshine.
I’ve been doing a lot of walking recently. The weather has been so good it’s been a fantastic opportunity to get out and about. I’ve had the pleasure of being able to do the morning school run each day and I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with Willow, playing games and talking about her latest business idea.
Next week is Environmental Week at school and she’ll be receiving points for each time she walks so we’re both excited for that.

I’ve been continuing to sell on Vinted. Our loft has been a repository for a lot of things over the years and now is a good time to sort out and declutter. I want to ensure the space we have is working for my family, and working for my work so aiming to create a creative and calm space. It is also making me realise how much stuff we own and making me more intentional with my buying. I’m also limiting the amount that is going to landfill and ensuring I’m selling or donating wherever possible.
I visited the Lightroom this week to see their Vogue exhibition (until 29 June). I think it’s such a fantastic space and they use it so well to create immersive experiences. Vogue felt more episodic than some of the other pieces I’ve seen there, however that approach works well as you’re able to join at any time and it still makes sense and holds together as a piece. They’ve got a Dinosaur (from 9 July) exhibit coming up over the summer which I’m sure will be spectacular and I’m looking forward to going.
They’ve also recently announced a partnership with Culture Spaces to present their work in immersive venues across France, an exciting development.
I promise there will be more professional news soon, there’s lots of working going on in the background. I’m assessing options and imagining a different future for my professional life. It’s definitely a period of transition, which is both enjoyable and terrifying in equal measure.
Watching / Listening / Reading
📺 Four Seasons on Netflix. Easy, light watching with a good cast and unexpected ending.
🎧 The News Agents is pretty much a constant on my listen list but not mentioned for a while. Really enjoyed their episode with self proclaimed “transatlantic media diva” Tina Brown, a fellow substacker. It was interesting to hear her talking about Substack being publishing direct to consumer (DTC) and the need to be enterprising to find your own luck.
📖 Creative Industries Council on Substack. Love coming across others using substack and they’re definitely worth a follow.
📖 Ash Mann’s This week’s best things always has something interesting to share. It’s amazing how much content Ash manages to consume on a weekly basis.
🎧 This week’s favourite was Carrie Goucher on Work Reimagined. Fantastic insight and perspetive on meetings as a reflection of organisational culture.
🎧 This lead me onto Culture Talk and hearing Ash discuss Beyond the Promise, his upcoming report on digital failure for which he’ll be hosting webinars in June.
🎧 The Media Odyssey on Pivoting careers in Media. I’ve often felt my career has meandered and doesn’t hang together as a coherent flow, however, I’m realising that what I’ve done is pivot to follow my interests and where I see potential to have the most impact in a changing world.
🎭 The Comedy about Spies at the Noel Coward theatre. It was also my first visit to the theatre for a little while and it was so much fun, the show is a barrel of laughs, its really well put together, the timing is amazing and the audience absolutely loved it.
